Not by itself. Stripe Checkout or Elements can make you eligible for SAQ A, the simplest Self-Assessment Questionnaire, but you still validate annually and, under PCI DSS v4.0.1, you are responsible for controlling and monitoring scripts on your payment pages (requirements 6.4.3 and 11.6.1).
Do we need a money transmitter license, or can we partner with a licensed provider?
Holding and moving funds on behalf of others can trigger state money transmitter licensing, which is slow and costly. Many fintech products instead partner with licensed banking-as-a-service or payment providers. This is a legal determination, so we design the architecture alongside your counsel’s guidance.
How do you connect to users’ bank accounts?
Typically through a bank-data aggregator for account verification, balances, and ACH authorization, combined with a payment processor for money movement. We handle token storage, consent flows, and webhook-driven status updates securely.
How do you prevent double charges and reconciliation errors?
Idempotency keys on every payment request, a double-entry ledger as the internal source of truth, webhook processing that tolerates retries and out-of-order events, and automated daily reconciliation against processor reports.
